Spread Vivekananda’s message to celebrate his 150th birth anniversary

The government of India has planned  originally to celebrate year-long 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda from January 12, 2012 in India and abroad, while  the Vivekananda Kendram, the Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari and  other organizations have planned to celebrate it for one year from January 12, 2013. Consequently, now the 150th birth anniversary is being celebrated for two years from January 12, 2012 to January 12, 2014.

The celebrations are being used to spread in the world the message of spirituality in Vedantic vision of oneness, universal peace, unity and brotherhood. And for India, the theme is “Wake up Bharat, enlighten the world.”

For the celebrations, Chicago assumes special importance because it was here on September 11, 1893, Swami Vivekananda delivered his historic “Sisters and brothers”  speech at the World Parliament of  Religions.  Chicago also assumes importance because it has been here that the Sri Ramakrishna Universal Temple has been recently constructed in Homer Glen fulfilling the wish of Swami Vivekananda.

The prestigious University of Chicago has also established a new visiting professorship in Indian studies to commemorate the legacy of spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, supported by a $1.5 million gift from India.

The new chair enriches the university’s renowned program for the study of the Indian subcontinent and further research and teaching of India’s history and culture.

While Vivekananda Kendra, Belur Math, the headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission and other institutions are currently engaged in various programs to connect  with the celebrations, the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), centers of Swami Vivekananda Vedanta Society located in various cities of the US and other countries are pursuing similar programs outside India.

B. Nivedita, Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra, who was on a tour of the US and was in Chicago recently, spoke to India Tribune.

She says that Swami Vivekananda  during his address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago gave self-respect, dignity and purpose to his motherland. On his return to India, he gave a rousing call to India “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached.” That was the first wave of inspiration.  The second wave of inspiration from the life and message of Swami Vivekananda was in the year 1963, when his birth centenary was celebrated by the whole nation with a great zeal.  As a culmination of the celebrations, the whole nation joined together to erect a grand Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the mid-sea. As a natural sequel to it, Vivekananda Kendra, a spiritually-oriented service mission was started, which has today over 600 branches all over the country.

She says that now the grand celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Viveka-nanda titled as “Swami Vivekananda Sardha Shati Samaroh” is a great opportunity to take the third wave of his inspiring message – “Wake up, Bharat, enlighten the world.”

Niveditadidi visits Chicago to spread message of unity

Nivedita Raghunath Bhide, All India Vice President of Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari recently visited Chicago and addressed a press conference where she spoke about the impending celebration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Swami Vivekananda did three days and nights sadhana at Kanyakumari rock. Vivekananda rock memorial is a place of inspiration for Hindus. Vivekananda Kendra is natural and spiritual evolution of Vivekananda Rock memorial committee.

Vivekananda Kendra is a Hindu spiritual organization based on the principles preached by Swami Vivekananda.

Nivedita ji Bhide who is a Jeevan Vrati (full timer) since her college graduation, said that she was in the U.S. to spread his message of unity of mankind. She emphasized further that Swamiji is not an alien to America, rather he is the one who strengthened the base of Hindu Philosophy of Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga, about which he spoke extensively in the U.S. during his first visit to this country in the year 1893 to attend the Parliament of World Religions.

Nivedita ji said that with a view to continue the activities of Swami Vivekananda Sardashati Samaroh (SVSS), Vivekananda Kendra of Bharat had set up 41 regions in India each with a working committee. They plan to extend it further by setting up village level committees across India in each state. She believes that this is yet another opportunity to reach the message of Swamiji to the youth, who are showing interest in his works and teachings.

US to join celebrations of 150th Vivekananda anniversary

If India is set for celebrating 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the Indian monk who came here 100 plus years ago and won over Americans with his charming personality and his expounding Indian philosophy, the Indian Americans in this country are not far behind.

Indian Americans in Chicago, that was the destination of Swami Ji, are gearing themselves for the event. They had the gracious presence of Ms Nivedita Bhide, vice president of Vivekananda Kanyakumari Kendra (VKK), who has come here to meet, greet and energize Indians by giving them more insight into the way celebrations are planned in India.

Ms Nivedita had a series of meetings with the volunteers and also decided to meet ethnic Indian media before leaving for New York and back to India. At a news briefing here, she said that the best way to celebrate Swamiji’s birth anniversary would be to spread his message of love and unity for mankind. She was in the US with the avowed objective to push up this mission of Swamiji.

She said that Swami Vivekananda Sardashati Samaroh (SVSS) had set up 41 regions in India each with a working committee. They plan to extend it further by setting up village level committees across India in each state of the Indian Union. She explained the five-fold dimensions of the celebrations focusing on educating youth, women, villages (janajatis, that is different groups of people who needs the services.) SVSS is working through Seva, Swadhyaya, Suraksha and Swawalamban i.e. service, self-study, vigilance and self-dependency under different programs, such as Seva Week or Seva Months.

Delineating the functions and services of each unit, she said that the objective of Yuva Shakti Aayam is to awaken and canalize massive youth power waiting to be exploded, especially in the context of impressive economic growth in India. Weekly or monthly the volunteers will go to interior places in order to spread the message by house to house contacts. Vivekananda Swadhyaya Mandalas will organize essays and other intellectually stimulating competitions, samuhika surya-namaskaras and “Awake Bharat Marathon events” promoting physical development of the youth.

With the help of Samvardhini Aayam the SVSS will encourage the participation of women in all walks of life to respect and enhance the nurturing capacity of women by promoting conventions in different areas like, Shakti Sammelana, Dampati (conjugal) Sammelana, Youth development camps (Kishori Vikas-girl students) by inviting leading women to discuss and present issues through symposiums in various vocations and professions.

She said the Gramayana Aayam (Village development schemes) will organize villagers to involve in the total development of their personal as well functional competency through harmony, satsang, service and shrama-samskara camps with such activities as Vivekananda Vatikas, Kirtan, Katha, pravachan and exhibitions on various topics.

Through Asmita Aayams for people living in forests and interior villages the SVSS will arrange medical camps, sports and games, competitions, conferences, focusing on encouraging literature, music, story-telling, and learning history. Whereas the focus of these activities will be on the entire society requiring education on all aspects of village (vanavasi and farmers) the main target will be to promote Yuva Shakti through public lectures, yoga training and conducting seminars and symposiums on the life and letters of Swami Vivekananda

On international level, the motto of the SVSS is Universal Peace through Yoga and Dharma by almost repeating the local activities on international stage through seminars, lectures and mass Surya Namaskara in different cities of US, UK Australia and Canada.

Nivedita Bhide, who is currently on tour of the US, had joined VKK as its life-warder in 1977.

She is responsible for the training of Jeevanvratis (dedicated full-time workers) which include training of the teachers of 65 Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalayas, co-ordination of Vivekananda Kendra Institute of Culture, Guwahati. She is a regular faculty in All India Yoga Shiksha Shibirs and All India Spiritual Retreats conducted at Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari.

12 जनवरी 2013 से भारत के प्रेरणापुरुष स्वामी स्वामी विवेकानंद जयंती के सार्ध शती समारोह वर्ष का प्रारंभ हो रहा है। इस समारोह के पूर्वतयारी के लिए कन्याकुमारी के विवेकान्द केंद्र मुख्यालय - विवेकानंदपुरम में  भारत जागो ! विश्व जगाओ !! महाशिबिर का आयोजन हुआ।

उद्घाटन सत्र  -

मा। किशोरजी, सार्ध शती समारोह के अखिल भारतीय समन्वयक 

भारत जागो ! विश्व जगाओ !! इस महाशिबिर में स्वामीजी के विचारोंसे प्रेरित होकर हम निश्चित उद्देश से पधारे है। भारत विश्व का एक प्राचीन देश है। यह विश्व का सबसे युवा देश भी है। काफी बड़ा युवा धन इस देश को प्राप्त है। परन्तु देश की वर्तमान स्थितियां अस्वस्थ करती है। अतीत में इस देश ने अनेक संकटो का सामना किया। काफी समस्याओंसे देश संघर्षरत है। स्वतंत्रता के पश्चात् शिक्षा के माध्यम से जो सांस्कृतिक जुड़ाव होना चाहिए था, जो अखंडता व एकता प्रस्थापित होनी चाहिए थी वह नहीं हुआ। यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। ऐसे समय में इस देश को कठिन स्थितियोंसे बहार निकालकर फिरसे वैभवपूर्ण स्थानपर स्थापित करना आवश्यक है। जगद्गुरु भारत स्वामी विवेकनन्दजी का स्वप्न था। युवा पीढ़ीही इस स्वप्न को साकार करेगी ऐसा विश्वास उन्हें था। इसलिए युवओंके जागृती हेतु इस संकल्प महाशिबिर का कन्याकुमारी में आयोजन किया है। यह वह स्थान है जहाँ स्वामीजी को अपने जीवित कार्य का साक्षात्कार हुआ था।

स्वामी विवेकानंद के राष्ट्र जागरण करनेवाले विचार घर घर पहुँचाने के लिए एक बृहद योजना बनाई गयी है। इसके तहत देश के 4 लाख गांवों में संपर्क किया जायेगा। 4 करोड़ घरों तक संपर्क और करीब 1 लाख से अधिक स्थानों पर सामूहिक सूर्यनमस्कार, 3 लाख जगहों पर शोभा यात्रा आदि उपक्रमों का आयोजन होगा।

देवी पार्वती, स्वामी विवेकानंद और विवेकानंद केंद्र के निर्माता मा। एकनाथजीकी तपोभूमि कन्याकुमारी में आयोजित इस महाशिबिर में हम विभिन्न प्रान्तों से एकता की अभिव्यक्ति के लिए एकत्र आए है। अपने जीवन उद्देश को समझने के लिए आये है। उस उद्देश को कैसे पूर्ण करना है यह जानने के लिए आये है। इस संकल्प शिबिर का उद्देश है की सम्पूर्ण भारतीय युवा पीढ़ी में एक नवचेतना जागृत करना। इस दृष्टी से इस शिबिर का विशेष महत्व है। यह शिबिर याने अपने जीवन का एक टर्निंग पोईन्ट है। अपने जीवन में आगे बढ़ने के लिए व जीवन की दिशा सुनिश्चित करने के लिए निश्चित रूप से इस शिबिर का बड़ा योगदान होगा। सम्पूर्ण भारत परिभ्रमण करके स्वामी विवेकानंद कन्याकुमारी आये। कन्याकुमारी में उन्होंने माँ पार्वती के चरणों में प्रार्थना की और अपने जीवन के उद्देश का साक्षात्कार कर लिया। माँ का कार्य याने भारत माता का कार्य इस बात को उन्होंने समझ लिया। सम्पूर्ण विश्व को जगाने के लिए उन्होंने माँ पार्वती से शक्ति प्राप्त की। उन्हें माँ पार्वती का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हुआ। उसी प्रेरणा से सागर में स्थित श्रीपाद शिलापर 3 दिन और 3 रात्रि तक अखंड ध्यान किया। अपने ध्यान में उन्होंने अखंड भारत देखा। देश की स्थिति समझ ली। भारतवासीयोंके उद्धार के लिए एक व्यापक योजना बनाई। स्वामीजी कहते है, भारत के पतन का कारण भारत का असंगठित जीवन है। विश्व के अन्य लोगोंकी तुलना में हम अत्यंत हीन जीवन व्यतीत कर रहे है। हम आलसी बन गए है। हम घोर तामस से ग्रस्त है। व्यर्थ विवादोंमे उलझ गये  है। इसी बात का फायदा विदेशियों ने उठाया। उन्होंने हमें गुलाम बनाकर बुरी तरह लुटा।

ऐसे निराशाजनक स्थिति से भारतीय समाज को अध्यात्मिक चेतना से स्वामीजी ने जागृत किया। विश्व सम्मेलन से सफल होकर लौटने के बाद स्वामीजीने तुरंत राष्ट्र को संगठित करना प्रारंभ किया। युवकों को एकत्र करने के लिए कोलम्बो से अल्मोरा तक युवा शक्ति को मार्गदर्शन किया। 1905 में बंगाल के विभाजन के विरुद्ध लढने के लिए कई युवकों ने स्वामीजी से प्रेरणा ली। लो। तिलक, सुभाष बोस, सरदार पटेल, राजेंद्र प्रसाद ऐसे जननायको ने स्वामीजी से प्रेरण ली।

इतिहास के इस बात को समझकर हमें नि:स्वार्थ भाव से देश के लिए काम करना होगा। समर्पित जीवन की प्रेरणा स्वामीजी के विचारोंसे लेनी होगी। आज देश के लिए युवा शक्ति की अत्यंत आवश्यकता है। इसलिए विवेकानंद केंद्र से जुड़कर हमें मनुष्य निर्माण व राष्ट्र निर्माण के लिए काम करना होगा। सेवाव्रती, शिक्षार्थी, जीवनव्रती के रूप में हमें समय दान देना होगा। यह समय की मांग है की विवेकानंद केंद्र से जुडो और अपना समय दो। हमें प्रत्येक घर में सनातन जीवन मूल्य पहुँचाना है। कार्यकर्ता निर्माण करना है। इसलिए भारतमाता की चरणों मे सम्पूर्ण समर्पण की तयारी रखिये। इस देश के माता पिताओंसे मेरा आवाहन है की, राष्ट्र निर्माण के पुण्य कार्य में अपने पुत्रों व पुत्रियों के मार्ग में बाधा न डालते हुए उन्हें समर्पण की प्रेरणा दे। क्यों की यही राष्ट्र कार्य का सही समय है। इस दृष्टी से ये संकल्प शिबिर एक निर्णायक शिबिर है।

विषय - स्वामीजी का राष्ट्रप्रेम और युवाओं को सन्देश

आज हमको भारत जागो विश्व जगाओ, ऐसा कहना पड रहा है, यह बड़ा दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। आज भी हम घोर तमस से बाहर नहीं आयें है। भारतीय युवाओं को जागृत करने के लिए उनमे चेतना उत्पन्न करने के लिए इस शिबिर का आयोजन किया है। काफी कष्टों से हम यहाँ पहुंचे है। ताकि  अपने जीवन की दिशा सुनिश्चित करे। स्वामीजी के विचारों से प्रेरणा  ग्रहण करे। केवल भारत में ही नहीं विश्व के अन्य देश तथा व्यक्तियों ने भी स्वामी विवेकानंद से प्रेरणा ग्रहण की। जापान के प्रधान मंत्री भारत आये तो उन्होंने कहा हमने जो प्रगति की है उसके पीछे स्वामी विवेकानंद की ही प्रेरणा है। कारण जापान के द्रष्टा महापुरुष तेनसिन ओकेकुरा ने स्वामी विवेकानंद से प्रेरणा ली थी।

स्वामी विवेकानंद ने भारत परिभ्रमण के दौरान धर्म की अवनति, टूटते जीवनमूल्य, गरीबी, निर्धनता, अज्ञान आदि बातें देखि। दूसरी ओर उन्होंने देखा की इन स्थितियों में भी भारत की धार्मिक और आध्यात्मिक धरोहर सशक्त है। सांस्कृतिक भावधारा अक्षुण्ण है। विश्व को परिवार समजने की भावना काफी प्रबल है। सम्पूर्ण विश्व में एकात्मता की भावना को जन्म देनेवाली यह संस्कृति महानतम है। इसी महानतम संस्कृति ने सदियों से विश्व को त्याग और सेवा का अमर सन्देश दिया। 11 सितम्बर 1893 के बाद स्वामी विवेकानंद अमरीका में  गणमान्य व्यक्ति बन गए। अमरिका में उन्होंने वैभव सम्पन्नता को देखा। सुख सुविधा होते हुए भी अपने देशवासियोंके स्मरणमात्र से वे रातभर रोते रहे। राष्ट्रप्रेम के कारण ही उन्होंने भारत में आकर युवकों का संघटन बनाया। युवको को प्रेरणा दी। आज हम सभी इस शिबिर से यह सन्देश लेकर जाएँ की हमें सेवा के माध्यम से ही अपने जीवन तथा कार्य को आगे बढ़ाना है।

विषय - भारत जागो विश्व जगाओ

भारत जागो विश्व जगाओ, यह स्वामी विवेकानंद का अमर सन्देश है। यह सन्देश याने उनके कार्य का निचोड़ है। आज भारत सोया हुआ है। तामस से पीड़ित है। जो विश्व को जगा सकता है, वही सो रहा है। इसलिए हमें स्वामी विवेकानन्द के विचारों को अच्छी तरह आत्मसात करना होगा। भोगवाद को नष्ट करने का तत्त्वज्ञान विश्व में आज केवल भारत के पास ही है। हमारा देश आज भी जीवित है क्यों की हमारे पूर्वजों ने हमारे समाज की व्यवस्था अद्वैत तत्वज्ञान पर खडी की है। आज हमें यह समझाना होगा की हमारे संस्कृति में ऐसा क्या है की जिसका हम त्याग कभी भी न करे और ऐसा क्या है की जिसमे हम समय के साथ परिवर्तन कर सकते है। यह सब छोड़कर आज प्रत्येक व्यक्ति 'क्रायींग बेबीज' बन गए है। जब तक हम निर्दोष नहीं होंगे तब तक हमारे प्रगति का मार्ग प्रशस्त नहीं होगा। इसलिए स्वामीजी कहते है, मुझे ऐसे युवाओं की आवश्यकता है जो अपने समाज पर प्रेम करे और अपने ह्रदय को विशाल तथा व्यापक बनाये। समाज की समस्त समस्याओं को समझते हुए अपना समय दान देगा। हमारे पूर्वजों ने अनेक आक्रमणों और कष्टों को सहकर इस पवित्र आध्यात्मिक संस्कृति का जतन किया। हमारे मन में अपने पवित्र संस्कृति के प्रति सन्मान और स्वाभिमान जागृत करे। इसलिए आओ, हम अपने धरोहर को समझते हुए स्वयं जगकर विश्व को जगाएं।

विषय - सार्ध शती समारोह और पांच आयाम

आज भारत अनेक गुप्त आक्रमणों का सामना कर रहा है। इस अवस्था में सभी स्थरो पर देश वासियों की नैतिकता गिरती जा रही है। आज हमें इन स्थितियों से उभरने के लिए अपने अंतर आत्मा को जागृत करते हुए सम्पूर्ण देश में भव्य दिव्य रूप में सार्ध शती समारोह के उपक्रमों को ले जाना है। इसलिए स्वार्थ त्याग कर राष्ट्र का पुनर्निमाण हमें करना है। इस हेतु गांव गांव, शहर शहर पहुँचाने के लिए पांच आयामों के माध्यम से हम कार्य करेंगे। देश के युवाओं को सही दिशा देने के लिए युवा शक्ति आयाम के माध्यम से हमें काम करना है। अग्रेंजों को देश से निकलने के लिए इस देश में यदि क्रांतिकारियों का निर्माण हो सकता है तो देश के नकारात्मकता व दुर्बलता को दूर करने के लिए निस्वार्थी युवा कार्यकर्ता क्यों नहीं। हम जियेंगे तो भारत के लिए, मरेंगे तो भारत के लिए। यह देश मात्रुसंस्कृति से संपन्न देश है। इस देश के उत्थान में स्त्रियों की अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका रही है। इसलिए सभी स्त्रियाँ संवर्धिनी के माध्यम से मिलजुलकर काम करे। भारत में आज प्रबुद्ध वर्ग निर्णायक शक्ति के रूप में दिखाई दे रहा है। उसे सही दिशा देना आवश्यक है। उनके साथ बैठकर सामाजिक तथा राष्ट्रिय समस्याओ के उपायों पर चर्चा हो, इसलिए प्रबुद्ध भारत आयाम के माध्यम से हमें काम करना है। गाँव की ओर चलो, यह संदेश हमारे महापुरुषों ने दिया है। स्वामीजी कहते थे भारत गांव में बसता है। गांव की विशेषताओं को समझते हुए हमें ग्रामायण के माध्यम से गाँव गाँव पहुँचना है। भारत में करीब 10 करोड़ से भी अधिक पिछड़ी जनजाति के लोग रहतें है। इन जातियों में धर्मान्तरण की बहोत बड़ी समस्या है। अब तक इन जातियों में पचास प्रतिशत धर्मान्तरण होने का अनुमान है। यदि समय रहते इन लोगों की पहचान व चेतना को जगाया नहीं गया तो यह समस्या और भयावह बन सकती है। इसलिए अस्मिता आयाम के माध्यम से हमें इस क्षेत्र में काम करना होगा।

सांस्कृतिक व आध्यात्मिक सम्पन्नता यह भारत की प्रमुख विशेषता है। धर्म तथा आध्यात्म के माध्यम से भारत ने विश्व को कामधेनु जैसी एक आदर्श समाज व्यवस्था दी। जिसमे हमारे ऋषी मुनियों का समर्पण है। मानवता का सन्देश कूट कूट कर भरा है। हर क्षेत्र में भारत ने स्थाई रचना दी, जिस आधार पर विश्व आज भी भारत की ओर ताक रहा है। ये सारी व्यवस्थाए एक दिन में नहीं बनी।

काल के प्रवाह में स्वार्थ के कारण इन व्यवस्था ओं की ओर दुर्लक्ष हो गया। स्वामीजी बताते है की, इस नौका ने हजारों सालों तक मानवता को पार किया। आज उसमे कुछ छेद हुए है। इस छेड़ को हम सबको मिलकर मिटाना होगा।

इसलिए हमें सार्वभौमिक, सर्वस्पर्शी, स्थायी एवं वर्तमान का लक्ष्य निर्धारण करने वाली और निश्चित यश देनेवाली योजना बनाकर कार्य करना होगा। यही हमारे कार्य की चतु:सूत्री होगी।

विषय - परिणामकारी कार्यकर्ता

विनाप्रशिक्षण कार्य से परिणामकारी कार्य नहीं होगा। अपेक्षित कार्य होना है तो प्रशिक्षण तो होगा ही। प्रशिक्षण यह निरंतर चलनेवाली प्रक्रिया है। ध्येय की स्पष्टता भी आवश्यक है। ध्येय स्पष्ट होने से उसके अनुरूप आचरण होने लगता है।  नेताजी सुभाष चन्द्र आय सी एस उत्तीर्ण हुए परन्तु उनका ध्येय निश्चित था, स्वातंत्र्यवीर सावरकरजी बारिस्टर हुए, लो. तिलक को गणित विषय में विशेष रूचि थी, फिर भी समय की आवश्यकता को समझते हुए इन युवाओं ने अपने जीवन का मार्ग निश्चित किया।

पुराने कार्यकर्ता के व्यवहार से नए कार्यकर्ता सीख जाते है, इसका हमें ध्यान रखना पड़ेगा। एकत्र कार्य करते समय कभी भी इर्षा, राग, द्वेष, अहम् बढ़ सकते है, उन पर विजय पाना आवश्यक होता है। एक प्रकार से कार्यकर्ता को सदाचरणतत्पर रहने की आवश्यकता होती है। कार्य करते समय अपने क्षमताओं का विकास होना है। अनुभव से आत्मविश्वास में वृद्धि होती है। अपने अन्दर के अमृत तत्त्व का प्रकटीकरण करने के लिए हम कार्य करते है, इस धारणा को ध्यान में रखना है।

समापन सत्र

ऐसा क्या है की जो सदैव रहनेवाला है ?, शाश्वत आनंद कुछ है ? मेरे जीवन का क्या प्रयोजन है इस प्रकार के प्रश्न मन में आने लगते है तो सही अर्थ में मनुष्य जीवन की शुरुआत होती है। इन प्रश्नों ने ही हमें यहाँ लाया है। ऋषियों ने अंतर्मन की खोज करते हुए इन प्रश्नों का जवाब पाया। मै चिरंतन आत्मा हूँ, केवल शरीर नहीं - इसकी अनुभूति करना ही जीवन का ध्येय है। एक जन्म में प्राप्त होनेवाली यह बात नहीं, इसलिए इस जन्म में हमें उस दिशा में प्रवास शुरू करना है। जीवन का अंतिम लक्ष्य प्राप्त करना है तो इधर उधर भटकते नहीं। जीवन का ध्येय राष्ट्र के ध्येय की विपरीत नहीं हो सकता। इस राष्ट्र का ध्येय सारे विश्व को आध्यात्म में मार्गदर्शन करना है। उच्च विचारों के संपर्क में रहते हुए ही हम उच्च ध्येय की ओर जा सकते है। ये व्यक्तिगत कार्य नहीं, संगठित करने का कार्य है। स्वामी विवेकानंद ने संगठन की आवश्यकता बताई। इसलिए हमें सामूहिक रूप से नियोजन करके कार्य करना है। यह सृष्टि समर्पण से निर्मित है। हम कितना जादा समय राष्ट्र के लिए देंगे इसका विचार हमें करना होगा। सार्ध शती समारोह हमारे लिए अवसर है। स्वामी विवेकानंद के वेदांत विचार, आत्मा के अमरत्व के विचार लोगों तक पहुँचाने के लिए अधिक उर्जा लगाने की  आवश्यकता है। यह कार्य हम सबको करना है। भगवान सधानों को चुनता है। हमें साधन, उपकरण बनाना है।

Universal Brotherhood Days Celebration at Mysore

Inter school Cultural Competition was organized on 8th September at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. 202 students from 14 schools participate in different events like Patriotic song, Essay writing on topic My Hero Swami Vivekananda, speech on Chicago speech and drawing – topic swami Vivekananda. Smt. Sreemati inaugurated the function.

Inter college Cultural Competition was organized onn 9th September, at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. 124 students from 12 colleges participated in Patriotic song, essay on topic “vision 2020“, speech on “Punya Bhoomi Bharat”, Drawing on Swamiji.

Later on 9th September, public function held at Vivekananda Kendra, Mysore Branch. Sri C V Gopinath Ji, Retd. Additional Secretary, Govt of India was the Chief Guest. Smt Nagaratnamma presides the function. Sri Gopinath ji spoke on application of Swamiji’s message in present world and Wake up Bharat and enlightened the world.  172 people attended the function.

On 11th September, public function held at Gopal swamy college. Dr. A S Chadrashekar, Nagar Pramukh, Vivekananda Kendra Mysore presides the celebration. Sri Pradhumna Ji, Sangha Chalak, was the Chief Guest. 78 youths attended the function. Dr. Chandrashekarji spoke on 150th birth celebration of Swami Vivekananda and he invited people to spend their some times in this national cause. Sri Aravinda Prasad briefed the Kendra activities.  Sri Pradhumanaji  inaugurated the “ YUVA BHARATA” activities and spoke on that segment. 

Universal Brotherhood Day Celebration at Itanagar

Vivekananda Kendra Arun Jyoti (VKAJ), Itanagar has Celebrated “Universal brotherhood Day” at VKAJ, Vivek Vihar, Itanagar. Speaking on the occasion, Sri Narayana Yadav, (Vice-Principal, VKV Vivek Vihar), Spoke about the history of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago address of 1893 World Parliament of Religions and briefly explained the actual meaning of ‘Brotherhood’. And appeal to Youth of nation to maintain the vision of Oneness.

Universal Brotherhood Day at VKV Doyang

110th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s momentous representation in the World Parliament of Religions, 11th September, Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm among parents, teachers, students and well wishers of the vidyalaya. Various activities included in the celebration effectively conveyed the importance and significance of 11 September to the ones present in the day’s programme. The whole programme was divided in two parts.


Part A (Seminar) : 10 am to 12:30 – was attended by Selected parents, students of IX and X, Jawans of Assam Rifles, CISF , NEEPCO officials and teachers.

Part B (Cultural Programme) : 1:00 pm to 2:30 – was attended by students of all classes (KG – X), parents and all guests.

Seminar -

A seminar on the topic, ‘Swami Vivekananda’s Message to the Youth of our Motherland for a Stronger India’, was organised. Relevant study materials for the seminar (‘Call Of The Millanium’, ‘Swami Vivekananda’s Message to the Modern India’, ‘Wake Up! India’ and ‘Youth and Swami Vivekananda’) were the books supplied to the 14 selected schools  of Wokha townEleven schools of Wokha town sent their representatives in the seminar with their headmasters and teachers as speakers and viewers. Speakers from six schools presented their papers on the topic.  A. C.  CISF, Sri A Manna, and Sr. Manager Civil, DHEP NEEPCO, Sri J Impang Rakhba were the invited guests present on the occasion. RAO, VKSPV, Sri Kamalakanth Baliarsingha was the moderator in the seminar.

Cultural Programme-

Bhuvana Mandale….. was the welcome song presented by a group of students. After the welcome address from the Principal, the tiny tots of KG presented an action song singing various rhymes.

An instrumental recital was presented by a group of trained students.

Surya Namaskar Demonstration : A group of students from various classes gave a demonstration of various postures of suryanamaskar in the rhythm of tabla. Regular chanting of mantra was continued during the demonstration in an exceptionally serene atmosphere.
Group dance - With a backdrop of patriotism two group dances were performed by students both in the rhythm of patriotic songs. The emotion of patriotic farvour generated with the performances much added to the already created atmosphere of serenity in the hall.

Prize Distribution - A brief prize distribution ceremony was arranged. Prizes for various CCAs’ held during the session were given away by the distinguished guests.
