Grand Shobha Yatra at Jammu

JAMMU, Jan 12: To inaugurate the yearlong celebration of Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, the foremost disciple of Sri Ramakrisha Paramahamsa, the Swami Vivekananda Sardh Shati Samaroh Samiti (SVSSSS), J&K, held a grand ‘Shoba Yatra’ today which began from Brahman Sabha, Parade and culminated at Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Gumat, here today.

The 'yatra' began with a good omen of breaking the coconut bythe Chief Guest Sh Pradeep Gupta “IAS” Divisional Commissioner  Jammu in presence of  the prominent saints and dignitries.
Earlier, Brig Ravinder Singh Jamwal, president SVSSSS along with Gyan Chand Sanhotra, SVSSS Convener North Zone and other office bearers welcomed the chief guest  and other dignitaries present on the occasion.

The shoba yatra included people from all sections of the society which included school children, senior citizens, ladies, band troops and well decorated Jankies. After passing through different areas of the 'City of Temples', the yatra, participated by thousands of people, culminated at Swami Vivekananda Chowk, Gumat, Jammu where the statue of Swami Vivekananda was garlanded amid high spirit, fervour and gaiety, which was followed by a Maha Bhog (Prashad) served among the participants at Khalsa School grounds, Jammu.  While passing through different bazaars people showered flowers on yatra at no of places.

Among others who participated in the Yatra were Brig. Suchait Singh RSS Chief J&K, I D Soni, Dr Rama Kant Dubey President VHP J&K, Brig. Badyal, Dr O P Gupta Pragti Munch, Jugal Kishore President BJP, Jagdesh Dogra President Snatan Dharm Sabha, Ashok Khjuria MLA, Hardeep Agarwal Secretary  Agerwal Sabha.
