15 January 2013 Itanagar- The 150th birth anniversary of great
patriot son of India Swami Vivekananda was celebrated in a befitting
manner by the 29 schools run under the Arunachal Shiksha Vikas Samiti
(ASVS) throughout the state.
At Abotani Viday Niketan Secondary School, Pachin, Naharlagun
students clad in Swamiji’s dress headed by children band party took out
Shoba Yatra (rally) in Lower Papu village and criss-crossing various
sectors of Pachin Colony areas from 6 am which became attractions of the
villagers. The Shoba Yatra culminated at Abotani Vidya Niketan school
ground which followed Yoga displays and patriotic songs by the students
divided in groups.
At the concluding function, one of the noted social workers and
Chairman of School Management Committee, Tai Tagak attended the
celebration along with Tadar Tania, President, Pachin Welfare Committee.
In his address, Tagak highlighted the life of Swami Vivekananda and
exhorted the youths to follow the path of Swamiji and realize his
dreams.
“Swamiji was one of the builders of Modern India whose words and
deeds profoundly influenced the lives and thinking of fathers of nation
Mahatma Gandhi, first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra
Bose, Rajagopalachari and others.
Swami Vivekananda always believed in youth power. His philosophy was a mixture of both spirituality and science”.
“Today the youth of the country are facing various challenges. I am
confident that the message of Swami Vivekananda has the power to
wonderfully guide them into the future. Swamiji also stressed of the
need to arm our youths with the relevant knowledge and skill that will
convert this mammoth potential to desired results.
He said Swami Vivekananda was a great awakener, saint, thinker and
philosopher, whose magnificent personality and electrifying words
infused faith and courage, love and sympathy, service and sacrifice in
the hearts of millions of Indians. He was great proponent of revival of
ancient Indian culture.
“No amount of politics will be of any avail until the masses of
India are well educated, well fed and well cared for,” Tagak quoted
Swamiji as saying.
Tadar Tania, President, Pachin Welfare Committee, Tadar Kama, State
Vice President, ASVS and Principal, Sukumar N, Abotani Vidya Niketan
Secondary school also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Tagak along with Tadar Tania, President Pachin Welfare
Committee distributed prizes to the winners of painting competitions
conducted by the school among the students on Swami Vivekananda.
