The celebration of Swamiji’s birthday-Yuva diwas on 12th January,2013 started with Mangalacharan in the morning at the Entry path of the Kendra office 76/2 Bidhan sarani.The place was decorated and karyakartas alongwith other local people gathered there in the morning at 7.30a.m. for Pushpanjali in presence of Shri Ashok Aikat,the President of Swami Vivekananda Sardh Sati Samaroh Samiti, Bangal prant.
Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari, Kolkata branch walked in the procession that started from the ancestral house of Swamiji at 9.15a.m. A tableau was decorated with the picture of Rock Memorial in both sides and the Bharat Jago Viswa Jagao as backdrop wherein Kum Pornica Chatterjee dressed as Bharatmata and Shri Vidyapati Chakraborty ,the live model of Swamiji delivering his messages and iterating Chicago address captured the attention of the public.The tableau wended through the city streets of North Kolkata. The female members of Gayatri Parivar , dressed in yellow colour walked with a mangalkalash carrying on the head. The school and college students, youths and hundreds of devotees walked to pay tribute to Swamiji. The Rabindranagar ladies group kept on singing Bhuban Mandale Nabayugam udautu sada Vivekanandamayam..while walking in the procession and all others gave their voice. The procession ended at 12.00p.m. Food packets were served to the participants. The number of participants were 450.
In the afternoon a quiz contest is held at the Rabindranagar centre where a number of 30 students participated in the contest.
