20,000 students perform Suryanamaskar

February 18, VADODARA : At least 20,300 children came together to perform the largest Suryanamaskar yagna at Ajwa crossroads near here on Monday morning. The event was organized to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda and the erstwhile Baroda king Sayajirao Gaekwad III. Students from about 200 schools in the city participated in the event that was organized by Swami Vivekananda Shardh Shati Mahotsav Samiti and Maharaja Sir Sayajirao Shardh Shati Mahotsav Samiti.

The event was organized on a 10 lakh square-feet of plot and about 8,000 female students too participat

ed in it. "Such event was organized at about 80,000 locations across the country and over four crore students participated in it. In Gujarat, Suryanamaskar event was held at about 300 places," said Bhargav Bhatt, organizer of the event.
