ITANAGAR, Dec 08: Along with the rest of the world,
Arunachal Pradesh is going to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of
Swami Vivekananda with the theme “Wake Up Bharat ! Enlighten The World”
from January 12, 2013 to January 12, 2014.
A State-level celebration organizing committee has already been
formed with a renowned social worker Nabam Atum as its president. Other
members of the committee include joint director of Higher and Technical
Education J Padu, Rinchen Dorjee,(Prant Sanyojak), Adv. Pritam Taffo,
(organizing secretary), Leki Phuntso (Publicity secretary) and Dr V. N.
Sharma, State Liaison Officer, NSS, director of higher and technical
education, (Assistant publicity secretary).
Briefing the media persons about the hectic preparation for the year
long celebration, Taffo through a powerPoint presentation informed
that 45 district and block level Ayahojan Samities (organizing
committees) have been formed in Arunachal Pradesh to celebrate the birth
anniversary of Swamiji in a grand manner.
The celebration aims at spreading the message of Swami Vivekananda
to all the section of our society. “Swamiji was a revolutionary thinker
who triggered the renaissance of the Indian nationalism. He emphasized
on the awaking of the masses without any hurting the faith and belief
system.
With the view of promoting social harmony the committee has
targeted mainly five segments (panchamukhi) of the society, namely i)
Yuva Shakti, ii) Prabuddh Bharat, iii) Gramayan, iv) Samvardhini and v)
Asmita during its year long celebration.
Nabam Atum, state organizing committee president appealed all
section of the people of the state to join the celebration irrespective
of their caste, creed and religious belief.
Addressing the mediapersons, Prant Pramukh of Vivekananda Kendra
Arunachal Pradesh Dr Joram Begi, also the director of Higher and
Technical education hoped that the celebration will provide ample
opportunity for the youth of the state to motivate themselves in right
direction.
“While Arunachal Pradesh is passing through a transitional period,
its youth force is not properly guided or motivated,” Begi, who is also
national level celebration committee member said and adding ‘celebration
is a great opportunity for us to take care of our youth.” Dr J Padu,
Leki Phuntso, R Dorjee and V N Sharma also spoke on the occasion. All of
them appealed to the people of the state and media in particular to
play pivotal role in spreading the message and teachings of Swami
Vivekananda in order to the wake up Bharat to ever new heights.
